New services and business from big data on real estate

Ready

In this project, measurement data obtained from offices is collected and analysed and consideration is given to how new services and business could be developed from the data.

What kind of problem is the project trying to solve?

The big data on real estate means measurement data that can be collected from the energy use, indoor air quality, etc. in a property. By collecting and analysing this data, it is possible to create new services and business models. Furthermore, it may be possible to take advantage of analysing the data also in serving the different interest groups of properties.

Objectives: to collect data on properties to create new business

The main objective of the experimental project is to collect, analyse and visualise measurement data and other similar data collected on properties and to test how the resulting information can be used in creating new services and business models.

A further aim is to explore how different interest groups of properties, including users, tenants, maintenance companies, owners and the authorities, can be served by analysing the data.

What is done in this project?

The project measures the conditions in office facilities and the functioning of air conditioning systems. In addition, the dependence of the end user's wellbeing and work efficiency on the quality of indoor air is examined. Feedback on air quality and other factors affecting comfort and productivity is collected from the users.

Who benefits?

People engaged in business related to real estate and different interest groups, such as the users, tenants and owners of properties.
