Data models to benefit real estate management and maintenance

Ready

The digital information model of a building will in the future be used also during the building's life cycle. The project develops a solution based on an information model for the management and maintenance of real estate.

What kind of problem is the project trying to solve?

The digital version of the building, the 3D model, will in future be used also during buildings' life cycles. The information model will indeed be useful in the management and maintenance of real estate, provided that also the material and product information of the building and the information related to the necessary maintenance measures have been joined to it.

Objective: to develop a three-dimensional model for the management and maintenance of buildings

The objective of this experimental project is to create a solution based on information models for the needs of real estate management and maintenance.

The solution joins the objects in the information model with product details, which may include product descriptions of the materials used in the building, maintenance and use instructions, information about necessary maintenance measures and the times for performing them as well as information about fixtures in the spaces and their use, or the people using the spaces.

The main phases of the project include determining user need-based functionality, testing alternative technical solutions, necessary software development work and testing the solution in a construction project.

Who benefits?

Companies and employees responsible for the management and maintenance of real estate.
