Building permit process based on data models

Ready

The experiment coordinated by the City of Vantaa is about promoting a building permit process based on data models.

What kind of problem is the project trying to solve?

In the experiment, we look for a solution to using data models in processing permits and in monitoring during construction works. In addition, data transfer standards related to archiving the data models will be laid down.

Objective: To provide the conditions for a data model based building permit process

The experiment creates the conditions for an efficient and functional building permit process based on data models from 2020 onwards.

What is done in this project?

In the experiment, we will develop a permit and monitoring process based on data models and archiving methods in tangible residential apartment building projects. Modelling instructions and inspection rules will be drafted along with guidelines for the actors in the sector. The need for developing data transfer standards will be communicated to the BuildingSMART community.

What are the expected results of the experiment?

The experiment will result in a permit and monitoring process based on data models, and the inspection rules and instructions will be developed further.

Who benefits from the results of the experiment?

Construction and real estate sectors.
