Using panorama videos for documenting construction sites

Ready

Interactive panorama videos can help in monitoring progress on a construction site. The UcMore software turns video material into a documenting tool for construction sites.

What is being done in this project?

UNITC Oy is developing the UcMore video service for visual documentation of progress on a construction site. The tools used consist of laser scanning and 360 videos, which are used to create interactive panorama videos. The videos can be used to view the construction site and to document progress in the construction work.

Objective: Showcasing the benefits of visual documentation

The UcMore software enables interactive movement and observation within a panorama video and laser-scanned material. The user can walk through an entire construction site, examining the progress of work at various locations.

The project also explored the benefits of visual documentation of this type and developed ways of collecting visual material at construction sites.

Who benefits?

Piloting in a real construction project enables the development of the software together with the client. This will result in a user-friendly tool that is well-suited to observing the built environment.
