Analytics to assist in property portfolio management

The experiment carried out by Visma Tampuuri Oy helps property owners to implement their strategy based on data analytics, by using more extensive data than before.

What kind of problem is the project trying to solve?

What is the best way for a property owner to manage their property portfolio? Which properties to build or develop, which ones to sell or demolish? How to forecast the mobility and turnover of residents?

What is the objective of the experiment?

The objective of the project is to find out how data analytics can support property owners’ property strategies when making decisions on existing properties (development, renovation, demolition) and building new properties. The objective is to create an ecosystem that provides predictability and security to the operations of property owners using data.

What is done in this project?

In the experiment, the data in the property owners’ property management systems will be combined with the publicly available data from the sector. In addition, data on the experiences of residents, collected by using surveys, will be included in the analysis. The objective of this is to forecast the turnover of residents and support the property strategy decisions.

What are the expected results of the experiment?

The experiment is expected to produce a model that creates more reliable, data based information for making decisions on the implementation of a property strategy in the long run and improves the predictability of the turnover of residents.

Who benefits?

The experiment benefits property owners in the first place and, on a more general level, the whole real estate sector.
