Information management

The modernisation and standardisation of information management means promoting the accessibility, interoperability and machine-readability of data in the public and the private sector. When information management is standardised, all stakeholders will have easy access to data, and streamlined systems can be developed. The goal is to support the renewal of the sector and its capabilities for making the most of the digital transition.

In the work aiming to standardise information management, crowd sourcing is relied on to identify development needs related to interoperability, define sub-projects for promoting the coordination and harmonisation of data, and build new data service practices. The standardisation of information management also includes efforts to develop the nomenclature and terminology for the real estate and construction sector.

The standardisation work is promoted through the following sub-projects:

Harmonisation projects
Harmonisation projects

Projects related to the modernisation of information management, or harmonisation projects, support the joint cultural transition of the real estate and construction sector. These projects are needed to ensure that information is shared and accessible to all stakeholders.

Principles of interoperability
Principles of interoperability

The elements of interoperability will promote the building of a digital ecosystem and information flows. These standardised elements are a precondition for sustainable digitalisation of the built environment. The elements of interoperability concern objects, data storage and the sector in general.
