Open IoT interfaces for building services engineering and properties
The purpose of the project is to develop cost-efficient ways to share information between building services and properties over the Internet of Things. There is a need for this because building systems have been closed solutions for a long time. The methods created through the project will enable open information management in the built environment, along with solutions and services that can be used to improve building functionalities, indoor air conditions and energy efficiency. For people using the premises, this will reduce worries, increase efficiency and create an environment that supports health and wellbeing. The parties involved in the project are the Smart Buildings and Services research group of the Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering, Granlund Oy, City of Helsinki, Helvar Oy, Senaatti-kiinteistöt and Tieto Oyj. The project will be completed in November 2017.
